Coppersmith Barbet, Psilopogon haemacephalus | Karangsewu, Bali Barat National Park

We spotted this Coppersmith barbet perched on a tree in Karangsewu, Gilimanuk, Bali Barat National Park when we were birdwatching together in the afternoon on Monday, May 8, 2023.We were guided by Untung from Bali Birding Tour. He has an amazing ability to find where the birds are.
I was very happy to be able to get some good photos.

Based on morphology, the bird we observed is a sub-species of rosaeus (Psilopogon haemacephalus rosaeus) with a distribution range of Java and Bali.

In Indonesia we call this bird Takur ungkut-ungkut, referring to its "ngkut-ngkut-ngkut"
